35W470 steel is a type of cold-rolled, non-oriented electrical steel (silicon steel), commonly used in the cores of electric motors, transformers, and other electromagnetic devices, particularly in new energy vehicles (NEVs) for drive motors, valued for its magnetic properties like low core loss (the ‘470’ often indicates power loss in Watts per kg) and good magnetic permeability, making it suitable for high-efficiency applications.
