Durch den Zusatz von Mo und V sowie die Verringerung des C-Gehalts weist Cr12MoV den Vorteil einer h\u00f6heren H\u00e4rtbarkeit, H\u00e4rte und Verschlei\u00dffestigkeit sowie einer geringen W\u00e4rmebehandlungsverformung auf. Er wird regelm\u00e4\u00dfig zur Herstellung von Kaltformwerkzeugen eingesetzt, die hohen Belastungen ausgesetzt sind, in der Massenproduktion verwendet werden und komplexe Formen aufweisen. Da es sich bei Cr12MoV um einen Ledeburit-Stahl handelt, wird seine Z\u00e4higkeit stark von der Morphologie und Verteilung der Karbide
